Start with the manual
If you are setting up Field Four for the first time, begin with Getting Ready. For microphones, audio interfaces, Computer Audio or timing problems, see Audio Input Setup and Timing Calibration. Recording, Bounce, import, export and Reel problems are covered under Troubleshooting and Limits.

Field Four is made and supported by a small independent publisher. Replies may not be immediate, but genuine bug reports will be read.
Tell us what happened
A few specifics usually matter more than a long description. Please include:
- your Field Four version, shown under Help › About Field Four;
- your Windows version and whether you were using a microphone, audio interface or Computer Audio;
- the exact message shown on Field Four’s status rail; and
- what you did immediately before the problem and whether the same steps reproduce it.
About diagnostic logs
Field Four keeps small local diagnostic logs when an operation fails. They can help investigate a problem, but they are never sent automatically.
Please don’t send a diagnostic log, recording, Reel folder or exported audio unless support asks and you are comfortable sharing it.
Bug reports and feature ideas
Both are welcome. Field Four deliberately follows a limited four-track tape-recorder workflow, so ideas that preserve that character are especially useful.
